1) The guideline for submitting abstracts
We require submitting abstracts for all participants of oral and poster
presentations to 6arboreal@
kyoto-squirrel.jp. This should ideally be in “Office Word” format, with a maximum of 350
words in English. The style of abstracts initiated with “Title”, “Authors
with Institutions and E-mail addresses in parentheses”, and “Methods”,
“Results”, “Discussion”, and “References” (if necessary) in that order
should be combined within a few paragraphs. The editorial staff may arrange
submitted abstracts to a uniform style before printing.
Deadline for abstract submission is 20 December 2011.
Deadline for registration is 20 December 2011.

2) Registration fee
The registration fee (250 US$ and 150 US$ for students) will be accepted
in cash on your arrival at the "Monbou Kaikan". Do not send any
money to the office. We do not receive any other currencies, except Japanese
Yen for Japanese participants.
Registration fee is used for the following expenses: Conference hall rental, Transportation (excursion and transportation to restaurants), Printing abstracts, Registration packages, T-shirts, Coffee breaks, Payment for assistants, and Lunch and Dinner.

3) Access and transportation
The most convenient airport is the “Kansai International Airport”. See http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/en/access/index.html..
You may arrive directly at this airport from abroad, or via other airports in Japan (Narita or Haneda at the Tokyo District).
If you need a Japanese visa, and have difficulties in obtaining a visa, please contact us.
After you reserved your air ticket to Japan, please tell us the date, time,
air lines, flight number, and the arrival airport. Our staff waiting at
the exit through the custom will guide you to the vehicle transporting
directly to the "Monbou Kaikan" on 3rd and 4th February only at the Kansai International Airport.

4) Accommodation
All oral and poster presentations will be held in the conference hall
of the "Monbou Kaikan", which is situated near the Kyoto Railway
Station in the central part of the city (taxi or about 15 minutes walk
to the "Monbou Kaikan"). See map (http://monbou.jp/index_e.shtml#a4).
Accommodation at the "Monbou Kaikan" is possible for all participants from 3rd through 8th February, though the conference ends at the noon of 8th.
Total accommodation fee (50US$ per night) together with the registration fee will be accepted in cash on your arrival at the "Monbou Kaikan".

5) Weather and temperature
February is the coldest month in Kyoto; the minimum air temperature is
0°C and the maximum 9°C on average. Weather in this month is usually fine,
but occasionally snowing.

|
|
|
|
6) Excursion
A whole-day trip in the ancient city of Kyoto City by bus is planned on
6th February, visiting the Arashiyama monkey park, several old temples,
and gliding observation of Giant flying squirrels in the evening. Every
early morning, you can join with the morning pray at the stately Nishi-Hongwanji
temple, next to the “Monbou Kaikan”.
